Welcome to JJ Tanzania Homes

Homely comfort and real Tanzanian life, under one family name

JJ Tanzania Homes is a family of two homes in the Kilimanjaro region.

Our lodge in Pasua, Moshi is calm and homely: clean, comfortable rooms and friendly hosts, perfect for climbers, business travellers and families passing through.

Our Cultural Home is something different. It is a family home where travellers learn Swahili, cook and eat with us, visit markets, farms and villages, and take part in everyday Tanzanian life.

What we offer

Facilities & services

All lodge services

Airport transfers

Pick-up and drop-off from Kilimanjaro International Airport and Moshi town, arranged on request.

Breakfast & meals

Start the day with a Tanzanian or continental breakfast. Other meals are prepared on request.

Guest lounge

A comfortable shared lounge with TV, a quiet place to read, plan the next day or unwind.

Learn Swahili

Everyday Kiswahili with a local teacher. Greetings at breakfast, bargaining at the market by the end of the week.

Cook Tanzanian food

Make pilau, chapati, ugali, mchicha and fresh chai alongside the family, then share the meal at one table.

Market & daily life

Walk to the local market, ride a dala-dala, buy fruit by the heap and see how a Tanzanian day really runs.

Dining table set for a family meal with flowers

In Tanzania we say karibu, welcome. Here it means a clean bed, a warm meal and a seat at the family table.
